Maintenance & History

Following a taxi incident at Rougham Airfield in October 2019, which resulted in damage to the left wing tip and rear spar area, G-BOIV underwent an extensive rebuild and refurbishment by The Light Aircraft Company at Little Snoring Airfield.

The aircraft was completely dismantled and rebuilt using inspected replacement wings from a Cessna FRA150M. NDT inspections were carried out on all attachment points, with no faults identified.

The replacement wings were stripped, etch-primed and professionally refinished in white. New flap tracks were fitted, with the original internal components transferred across.

During the rebuild, the fuselage was also thoroughly inspected. Minor corrosion identified around the tail surfaces, doors and cowling was professionally treated and refinished. The aircraft was subsequently reassembled using new wing attachment bolts and rigged in accordance with the maintenance manual.

Upgrades & Refurbishment

Further work completed as part of the refurbishment included:

  • New aileron cables
  • New flap cable
  • New breather hoses
  • New wing tips
  • All new windows
  • Serviced compass with new deviation card
  • Upgraded switches
  • New instrument filters
  • New RG25XC battery
  • LED landing light upgrade

The aircraft also benefited from the installation of a zero-time overhauled Continental O-200-A engine by Norvic Aero Engines, together with a brand-new Sensenich propeller, new engine mounts, new flexible hoses and a new air filter element.

Following the work, the aircraft was fully reweighed and underwent an annual inspection and ARC review. All applicable FAA, EASA and Cessna continued airworthiness requirements were complied with as part of the rebuild process.

With its extensive refurbishment, strong maintenance status and excellent presentation, this Cessna 150M offers a practical and dependable ownership opportunity. Its combination of low engine hours, modern usability and well-documented history makes it an excellent choice for pilots looking for a capable and well-maintained Cessna 150M.
