Atlantic Aircraft is pleased to exclusively present G-IFAB, a beautifully presented Reims Cessna F182Q Skylane offering a compelling combination of classic Cessna capability, modern Garmin avionics and a well -documented maintenance history.
Hangared year-round at Lamb Holm, Orkney, G-IFAB has spent the last 10 years in the hands of an owner who has made the most of its touring and performance capabilities, exploring the remote Scottish islands, Orkney Archipelago, Shetland and Western Isles with his wife, and on occasion accompanied by their two trusted Brompton bicycles! Now, with his flying hours reducing, the time has reluctantly come to pass this much-loved aircraft on to its next owner for a new adventure.
Built in 1979, G-IFAB benefits from a low-time airframe, a full bare-metal respray in 2015, engine and propeller overhauls in 2019, a substantial Garmin Avionics upgrade in 2020 and an interior refurbishment in 2025. Together, the improvements demonstrate the substantial investment made in the aircraft throughout its current ownership.
Touring capability meets modern avionics
The Cessna 182 has long been a firm favourite among private owners and touring pilots in the general aviation community, renowned for its comfortable and spacious cabin, useful load-carrying capability and versatile performance. G-IFAB's history of island touring is a testament to the appeal of this enduring four-seat design.
With a low total time airframe of just 4,892 hours and only 272 hours since overhaul on both its Continental O- 470-U 230 hp engine and McCauley constant-speed propeller, G-IFAB offers an excellent opportunity for a pilot seeking a well-equipped and well-maintained aircraft.
The extensive avionics upgrade in 2020 brought this much-loved aircraft firmly into the modern era, transforming the airframe with a comprehensive Garmin suite including:
- Garmin G500 TXi
- Garmin GI 275 standby PFD
- Garmin GNX 375 WAAS GPS
- Garmin GMA 350 audio panel and intercom
- Garmin GNS430
- Garmin 255A NAV/COM
- Garmin GCO 14
The result is a well-equipped cockpit offering modern navigation and flight information capabilities, making GIFAB an attractive prospect for touring, instrument flying and other suitable operations, subject to the aircraft's approved equipment and operational status.
A finish that reflects its ownership
The aircraft features an elegant red and white paint scheme which has been routinely polished and cared for by the current owner.
The cabin also received an extensive refurbishment in May 2025, including new upholstery, floor coverings, internal plastics, door cards and headlining. The refreshed red interior beautifully compliments the red and white exterior detailing, giving this Skylane a distinctive and cohesive finish.
Maintenance and additional equipment
G-IFAB is a well-equipped Skylane that has clearly been enjoyed, cared for and thoughtfully improved rather than simply maintained.
Maintained by Airspeed Aviation Ltd in Derby, G-IFAB comes with an annual and ARC valid until 8 June 2027, with complete logbooks available for inspection prior to purchase.
In addition, the aircraft will be sold with a full aircraft protective cover and 701E aircraft tug with new battery – delivering a complete set-up for its next owner.
