Airspeed Aviation Ltd is a CAA-approved light aircraft maintenance and engineering company based at Derby Airfield (EGBD), supporting General Aviation aircraft owners and operators across the UK.
With continuous CAA approval since 1982, Airspeed Aviation operates under CAA Part-CAO and BCAR M3 approvals, providing maintenance support for UK-registered fixed-wing light aircraft up to 2,730 kg. Services include scheduled maintenance, ARC renewals, AMP development, defect rectification, pre-purchase inspections, modifications, aircraft weighing and LAA Permit aircraft support. The team can also support FAA N-registered aircraft for routine maintenance and avionics.
Engineering capabilities extend to Lycoming and Continental piston engine overhaul and repair, magneto servicing, component work, dynamic propeller balancing and specialist support for vintage and classic aircraft. Airspeed has particular experience with the Cessna 177 Cardinal, Beagle Pup and Bulldog, and de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk.
The company also has extensive in-house avionics capability and is an authorised Garmin and Trig dealer and installer, providing everything from individual equipment upgrades to complete modern glass cockpit and autopilot installations.
