About Aerobility

Aerobility was founded in 1993 to make aviation accessible for people with disabilities. Operating from bases including Blackbushe Airport, Tatenhill, Lydd and Newquay, the charity offers subsidised introductory flights, accessible flight training through to Private Pilot Licence (PPL) level, simulator sessions, and a range of youth aviation programmes. Using specially adapted aircraft and equipment, Aerobility enables people with physical, sensory, learning and other disabilities to experience the freedom of flight while building confidence, independence, and practical skills.

Beyond flying, Aerobility plays a leading role in promoting accessibility and inclusion across the aviation industry. Run largely by disabled aviators and supported by volunteers, the charity provides advocacy, expert advice, career development initiatives, and educational programmes designed to inspire the next generation of disabled aviation professionals. Its mission is encapsulated by the question, "If I can fly an aeroplane, what else can I do?", reflecting its commitment to helping participants overcome barriers, broaden aspirations, and realise opportunities both within aviation and beyond.
