Founded in 1999 at Exeter International Airport, Aviation South West is a dual-approved training organisation holding certification from both the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Transport Malta (EASA). Operating dual bases in the South West of England and Europe, the school provides flight students with access to controlled international airport environments equipped with full Air Traffic Control facilities while benefiting from relatively uncongested airspace. As an independent, family-run organisation, the school combines a high-standard, career-focused learning framework with personalized, one-on-one instruction and an unblemished safety record.
The flight school delivers a versatile curriculum catering to recreational fliers and aspiring career aviators alike via full-time and part-time modular pathways. For prospective professional pilots, Aviation South West offers "Direct to First Officer" commercial flight programs, ATPL theoretical ground school, Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) ratings, Instrument Ratings (IR / CB-IR), and Flight Instructor ratings. Private pilots can access foundational training for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Night Ratings, IMC/IR(R) endorsements, and ongoing licence revalidations or renewal check-rides.
