About Cambridge Flying Group

Fly Vintage, operated by the Cambridge Flying Group, offers a unique approach to flight training in beautifully restored de Havilland Tiger Moths, combining Private Pilot Licence (PPL) instruction, tailwheel conversions, aerobatic and formation training with the opportunity to master traditional stick-and-rudder flying in historic open-cockpit aircraft. As a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation, the group provides an immersive learning experience that emphasises hands-on participation, classic airmanship and the heritage of vintage aviation.

Founded in 1953, the Cambridge Flying Group has a rich history linked to RAF flying training and continues to foster a welcoming community of aviation enthusiasts through regular social events, fly-outs and mentoring. In addition to comprehensive flight training, the group offers air experience flights, scholarships and advanced flying opportunities, allowing both new and experienced pilots to enjoy the challenge and character of one of Britain's most iconic training aircraft in the historic surroundings of the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden.
