Kurusha Flying School & Club provide personalised flight training for aspiring and qualified pilots in a friendly, community-focused environment. The school offers Private Pilot Licence (PPL) training, Night Ratings, Instrument Rating (Restricted) (IR(R)), trial flying lessons, self-fly aircraft hire, and aircraft checkouts, with instruction delivered by highly experienced pilots whose backgrounds include airline, military, helicopter, bush, and mountain flying. Rather than operating as a high-volume training academy, Kurusha emphasises individual tuition, flexible learning, and helping students develop into safe, confident pilots at their own pace.
Founded in 2024 to re-establish flight training at Thruxton following the closure of the previous school, Kurusha was created with the aim of fostering a genuine flying club atmosphere where learning, social flying, and community are equally important. Alongside structured pilot training, the club offers self-fly hire, regular social events, guest speaker evenings, and ongoing support for qualified pilots, making it a welcoming hub for the local general aviation community. Operating from Thruxton Airfield, with its hard and grass runways, excellent facilities, and convenient location, Kurusha combines high-quality instruction with an accessible, club-led approach that encourages lifelong participation in aviation.
