Shropshire Aero Club is one of the UK's longest-established flying clubs, based at Sleap Airfield near Shrewsbury, where it has been introducing people to aviation since 1955. Operating as a UK CAA Declared Training Organisation, the club offers Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and National Private Pilot Licence (NPPL) training, together with Night, IR(R) and Aerobatic ratings, trial lessons and aircraft hire. Students benefit from a diverse fleet of training aircraft, experienced instructors and modern facilities in a welcoming general aviation environment.
Beyond flight training, Shropshire Aero Club provides an active flying community with aircraft rental, ground school, social events and a wide range of aviation experiences, including aerobatic and sightseeing flights. Based at the well-equipped Sleap Airfield, which features two hard runways, extensive visitor facilities and one of the UK's busiest general aviation communities, the club offers an excellent environment for both recreational pilots and those progressing towards advanced flying qualifications.
