South Coast Flying Group is a not-for-profit Training Organisation providing affordable Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Night Ratings, IMC/IR(R) training, aircraft hire, and flying club membership in a community-focused environment. The group is run entirely by volunteers and reinvests any surplus income back into its aircraft, facilities, and member services rather than distributing profits, helping to keep flying accessible while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety, instructor availability, and flexible training.
Alongside structured flight training, South Coast Flying Group operates an active self-service flying club that offers members affordable aircraft hire, online booking and flight management, simulator access, and ongoing support for qualified pilots. Based at the historic Brighton City Airport, the club combines modern digital systems with a friendly, low-cost membership model, encouraging recreational flying, skill development, and participation in a welcoming general aviation community while preserving the long-standing flying heritage of Shoreham.
