West London Aero Club (WLAC) boasts a rich heritage dating back to the de Havilland School of Flying and its role as the wartime headquarters for the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA). Today, it offers a welcoming, community-focused environment where students can pursue ab-initio flight instruction toward a UK FCL Private Pilot's Licence (PPL).
In addition to foundational pilot training, the club provides a wide array of specialised ratings and thrilling flight experiences. Members and visitors can undertake ground school, Instrument Rating (Restricted) training, Tailwheel conversions, and Flying Instructor courses, or experience vintage and aerobatic aircraft such as the de Havilland Tiger Moth, Piper Supercub, and Pitts Special. Supported by a historic clubhouse and a dedicated team of instructors, WLAC combines traditional general aviation charm with comprehensive training facilities.
