Based at Breighton Airfield near Selby, Yorkshire Yankee offers vintage flight experiences aboard "The Yorkshire Yankee"—a beautifully restored 1945 Boeing Stearman American biplane. Painted in authentic World War II US Army Air Corps trainer colors, this historic, open-cockpit aircraft provides passengers with a thrilling, hands-on taste of golden-age aviation set against the backdrop of the scenic Yorkshire countryside.
The experience packages range from 20 to 60 minutes and include a comprehensive pre-flight safety briefing, flight gear (helmet, flight suit, and gloves), and direct headset communication with an experienced pilot. Operating out of Breighton Aerodrome, a former WWII RAF bomber base, visitors and spectators can also enjoy up-close photo opportunities with the aircraft, access to viewing areas, and on-site amenities at the airfield’s café.
